The Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship is available across 4 pathways:
- Teaching Assistant only
- Teaching Assistant plus Sports Delivery
- Teaching Assistant
- Special Educational Needs (SEND)
- Teaching Assistant plus Education and Training
Designed to establish you as a role model and able to support pupils and teachers alike, this course with provide you with strategies to cater for individual
and wider class needs.
Delivered by tutors with a wealth of practical experience and best practise to share, this programme offers the opportunity to gain both generic and specialist
knowledge and skills in order to progress your career.

What do I need?
- Employment as a Teaching Assistant and work 30+ hours per week
- An employer who will support your learning – an average of 6 hours per week
- The ability to attain Level 2 English and Maths if haven’t already
How will I learn?
- Online group workshops
- 1:1 face-to-face and online support
- Workplace observations and feedback
- Learning content and tasks on the Competence App
- Technology-rich evidence collection methods
How will I be assessed?
- Portfolio of evidence
- Workplace observations (2 hours) + Questions (15 mins)
- Professional discussion (90 mins)
